BATON ROUGE, La (NBC33) -- Former Alcohol and Tobacco Commissioner Murphy Painter is in trouble again, according to court documents. Attorney Jill Craft says Painter violated his restraining order. She says he showed up at a funeral being held for Kelli Suire's aunt back in January.

The restraining order states that Painter cannot go within a thousand feet of any place that Suire or her immediate family could be. Craft says this is the second time he has violated that injunction.

She worries that if something isn't done, Painter will continue violating that restraining order. "If somebody tells you, no, how many times do they have to continue to tell you no?" she asks. "You don't just get to run out and whatever it is you want to do and disregard court orders."

Craft filed a motion to hold Painter in contempt of court. That hearing is scheduled for late February. Painter's attorney was not available for comment.

Thanks for this. Please do a complete story on Painter. Each paper carries only pieces of the story. Women of Louisiana deserve better than this.
OIG report lists Murphy Foster as Murphy Painter's lawyer. That is former Gov. Foster's son who is w/ BSW law firm, a corporate law firm. Point of contact for OIG report is Greg Phares..former BRPD Chief and former sheriff I believe...worth checking into.
