OR police say man stalked women in van converted into ‘moveable dungeon’
Portland, OR (KGW) — Investigators in Portland, Oregon say a man shot and killed by police last month had been stalking women in a van that he had converted into a "moveable dungeon."
Inside Kelly Swoboda's van police found chains and rope padlocked to the floor. He also had zip-ties and latex gloves.
"It's paraphernalia that people normally use in a crime of abduction and of rape and in some cases murder," says forensic psychologist Dr. Kevin McGovern.
Investigators think Swoboda may have been looking for his next victim when he approached several children around Wilson High School last month.
The 49-year-old had been on the run since January. Police say Swoboda kidnapped an employee at a tanning salon. The woman, bound with duct tape, got away.
