Scams popped up after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
And Louisiana Attorney General Buddy Caldwell expects to see them again.
Caldwell spent Thursday morning with officials in Breton Sound.
That's in St. Bernard Parish where many commercial fishermen have been training to help clean-up the spill.
The attorney general's staff is focused on protecting coastal parishes from scam artists--everything from fake charities to job scams.
Caldwell's office wants to make sure that fishermen are getting the work and assistance they need.
So, his staff will also be looking out for scammers trying to swindle the state.
Anyone applying for disaster relief assistance will have to prove they really need it.
