Nichols announces sale of Baton Rouge State Office Building
BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Commissioner of Administration Kristy Nichols announced Thursday that the Baton Rouge State Office Building at 150 Third Street in downtown Baton Rouge has been sold to the higher of two bids.
The 150 Third Street, LLC had the higher bid at $10,250,000.
The money from this sale will be wired to the Treasury and credited to the State Overcollections fund.
Commissioner Nichols said in a release that the sale of this building will help keep a balanced budget and help in the revitalization of downtown.
John G. Davies, Baton Rouge Foundation President and CEO said, “As we did in rehabbing the Capitol House into a Hilton, we are purchasing this building to produce a social benefit – putting it back into commerce to continue the revival of downtown as prescribed by Plan Baton Rouge. The Foundation has ideas for the future of this beautiful building, but can’t say more until all the planning is done.”
The Baton Rouge State Office Building is a twelve story, 92,567 square foot commercial office building located on Third Street in the heart of downtown Baton Rouge.
