New NBC Wall Street Journal Poll shows Obama's favorability ratings have weathered recent storms
NBC NATIONAL NEWS — A new NBC Wall Street Journal Poll shows that President Obama is surviving the latest scandals in his administration pretty much unscathed.
While the President's own numbers are holding steady, the poll shows Americans have the concerns of the people working under him.
Despite a significant drop in support among independents, President Obama's job approval and favorability numbers essentially haven't changed - still hovering just under 50%.
"These controversies have hit the President, they've knicked him up a little bit, but they really haven't damaged his political standing just yet," said NBC News Senior Political Editor Mark Murray.
But Americans are questioning the honesty and integrity of his administration.
58% have concerns about how the State Department investigated the deadly attack on our consulate in Benghazi
And the Justice Department seizing reporters' phone records.
55% are disturbed by the IRS targeting conservative groups.
