The new Main Library at Goodwood has been up and running for a while now, but it got it's long awaited dedication Saturday.

The new library has been in the works for nearly a decade. Now the public can come out and enjoy all it has to offer, like it's new technology, including more than one-hundred computers and free WI-FI. It even has an area just for teens.

Officials said it was a long time coming, but it was worth the wait.

"What you have here is a library that combines both traditional library services with cutting-edge technology, which is exactly what this community needs," said Louisiana State Librarian Rebecca Hamilton.

"I am grateful to be a part of Baton Rouge and this great library, but more than that, I thank God, from the bottom of my heart, for allowing others to not only dream, but see the reality," said Mayor of Baton Rouge Kip Holden.

The new library cost more than $40 million, which officials said was well under budget. If you would like to learn more about what the library has to offer, you can go to www.ebrpl.com for more information.
