NBC NATIONAL NEWS — A colorful craze is hitting the city square and two public parks in Norcross, Georgia as more than 30 women helped to “yarn-bomb” the areas.
Wildly patterned pieces adorn parking poles, trees and benches in the city square and two public parks in Norcross, Georgia.
It is all part of a new craze that is popping up in cities around the world called “yarn-bombings.”
More than 30 women spent six weeks knitting and crocheting the Georgia city pieces, bringing the colorful pieces to life.
The Norcross Arts Alliance came up with the idea to don their streets with yarn-bombs.
Arlene Beckles was just one of the organizers.
“It’s not just for grandmas anymore,” said Beckles, adding that it is just plain fun.
