Riverside man killed his girlfriend, stuffed her body in a suitcase and dumped it at a San Diego County hotel, investigators said Friday.

The body of Christine Stewart, 47, was found in a large rolling suitcase that was abandoned at the Best Western Plus at 13845 Poway Road at about 2 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Riverside County District Attorney's Office. Stewart, a behavioral health specialist at a county drug rehabilitation clinic in Hemet, had been missing since Saturday night.

The Riverside District Attorney has charged her 27-year-old boyfriend, Joseph Dorsey, with her murder. Dorsey remains at large.

Investigators said they found evidence that Stewart was murdered at Dorsey's apartment in Lake Elsinore. He allegedly stuffed her body into the suitcase, drove it to Poway and checked into the hotel. He never checked out of the hotel, so hotel employees opened the room and called police when they found the suitcase, investigators said.

Dorsey is described as 6 feet, 1 inch tall, about 200 pounds with brown hair and green eyes. He is possibly driving a dark blue 2003 Ford Explorer SUV with gray primer on the hood and front fender. The vehicle has a California license plate of 6UDY773.
