An Arizona woman accused of hoarding cats for a second time says she takes good care of her animals.

Lucienne Touboul, 81, of Wittmann was arrested Wednesday on 26 counts of animal cruelty.

The arrest came two years after another arrest.

In that case more than 104 cats were found at her home, along with several dead kittens kept in the freezer.

Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies said at the time that Touboul confessed to eating the kittens in stew, but she now says that alleged confession was the result of a language barrier.

Touboul was born in Africa and lived in France for many years until moving to the United States.

She says the kittens were being kept in her freezer until a friend could help her give them a proper burial.

Joel Hayes, a cab driver who regularly helps Touboul with her errands, says that although she does have lots of cats, she works hard to take care of them and regularly takes them to the vet.
