Waco store manager kidnapped and robbed in 'guerrilla style' attack

WACO, TX (KWKT) — A Waco store manager was kidnapped and robbed early Friday morning, in what Police are calling a "guerilla style" attack.
It happened just after midnight at the Super Plaza grocery store on the 1300 block of North 25th St. in Waco.
After the store's assistant manager had closed the business for the evening, three men wearing military-style clothing and ski-masks followed the followed him to an intersection near 18th and Bosque streets.
The men then rammed the manager's car and pulled in front of it to block him in.
Two of the men forced their way into his vehicle at gunpoint.
They then kidnapped him and drove him back to the store in his own vehicle, with the third robber following behind in their vehicle.
When they got to the store, two of the men forced the manager to open the store and disarm the alarm, while the third man waiting in a vehicle outside the building.
Once inside, the men attacked the manager and attempted to break into a safe.
An observant passer-by saw the robbery taking place and called 9-1-1.
Waco Police officers were dispatched to the scene, and saw two men run from the store, jump into a vehicle and drive away.
After a short pursuit, the men crashed at the intersection of Bosque and Brookview.
Two of the men attempted to flee the scene, and were caught after a short foot chase.
In their car, officers discovered an AK-47 assault rifle, an Uzi, and a hangun that are believed to have been used during the robbery.
Authorities also found bullet resistant armor.
All three men had Mexican National ID cards, and are believed to be from the Dallas area.
The men are identified as 29 year old Marco Polo Medina-Gonzales, 20 year old Josias Chavez, and 24 year old Julio Cesar Figueroa Medina.
All three were arrested and charged with Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Robbery. Medina-Gonzalez was also charged with Possession of Cocaine.
The store manager sustained minor injuries during the assault.
