Volcano erupts in Italy
MOUNT ETNA, Italy (NBC33) — Italy's Mount Etna has erupted again, sending lava spewing into the sky overnight Sunday. The flames and sparks reached more than 800 feet in the air.
Etna looms over Catania, Sicily's second largest city. Experts were there to monitor the eruption from the volcano's southeastern crater.
The eruption caused disruptions at Catania airport, but the airport reopened Monday morning.
