NBC News — More observers have joined the United Nations supervision mission in Syria. More than 100 observers are now in the country to monitor the teetering truce between the government and opposition forces.
The ceasefire that was supposed to take effect last month hasn't had as much impact as world powers hoped, and violence from both sides continues. A full team of 300 observers is expected in the country by the end of the month. Meanwhile, opposition leader Syrian National Council President Burhan Ghalioun, said in an interview sunday the group would try to work more closely with the Free Ayria Army to create a new strategy against the Syrian regime.
