Vaccine for Hepatitis E developed in China
NBC News — China says it's developed the world's first vaccine for the Hepatitis E virus. A scientific research team spent 14 years researching and developing the vaccine. The HEV vaccine will be put on the market in the second half of this year.
Hepatitis E is one of the five known hepatitis viruses. In China last year, those affected with HEV reached nearly 280 million. The most common way of becoming infected with HEV is through fecally contaminated drinking water.
