United Kingdom bracing for massive strikes
NBC News — The United Kingdom is bracing for a day of massive strikes. Teachers, hospital staff and border guards are among the workers taking part in Britain's first mass strike in more than 30 years.
Up to two million public sector workers are protesting reforms that unions say will force them to pay more for their pensions and work longer before they can retire. The government says the reforms are needed because people are living longer and public service pensions are unaffordable.
