A small plane crash near Jackson, Mississippi yesterday leaves three Civil Air Patrol wing members dead.

Colonel John E Tilton Jr., Lieutenant Colonel David Williams and Captain William C. Young were all killed when their small engine plane crashed in a residential area shortly after takeoff.

Police in Jackson say the three men were flying a Piper A-32 aircraft and were not on an official Civil Air Patrol mission.

The Civil Air Patrol is an official auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force.
