A Texas-based police officer was arrested earlier this week for stabbing a woman with a syringe. Today we have learned that the victim is his wife and the syringe was filled with a chemical used to euthanize animals.

Sgt. David Horn, an officer with Hooks Police Department, was arrested shortly before midnight after he allegedly stabbed his wife with the lethal drug at their home on Moss Lane. His wife was flown to a nearby hospital and was last reported to be in intensive care.

The new information means an upgrade in charges for Sgt. Horn. He is now charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon to a family member, which is a first degree felony.

A second victim reported she was also attacked by Horn.
