NBC News — Tensions are extremely high along the Turkish-Syrian border a day after Syrian forces shelled a Turkish border village killing five civilians. NATO is holding an emergency meeting today on the sharp escalation in the Syrian conflict, Turkey is a NATO member.
Ten civilians were wounded in the attack. The shelling appeared to come from forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar Assad's regime, which is fighting rebels backed by Turkey in an escalating civil war.
