NBC NATIONAL NEWS — In Clear Lake, Wisconsin there's arguably no "Mayberry" like the Taylor Home Inn.
"There's a whole Mayberry community out there," said owner David Scheuermann. "It's a very nostalgic show. It's kind of timeless in a way. You didn't know what era it was from."
So taken by the show that ran from 1960-68 on CBS, Scheuermann modeled an entire bed and breakfast after it.
"When people come we like to show them pictures of certain shots from the show," he said.
Those pictures come to life right before your eyes.
From the kitchen to the dining room to the fireplace to Opie's room, not a detail has been missed.
It took years and plenty of time on Ebay to find the exact same pictures and photos that hang on the wall.
Scheuermann freeze framed episodes of the Andy Griffith Show to get Opie's room just right.
He took a few liberties to do a few extra things to Aunt Bea's room which wasn't often part of the show.
The jail on the other hand, was often used and sits in Scheuermann's basement.
From the keys that hang on the brick to the water cooler, to again the pictures on the wall.
With so much invested you might think hearing about Andy Griffith's death would be a little tough.
"I built the house you know," said Scheuermann. "Yeah it's a sad day in Mayberry that's for sure."
