NBC News — Syria's government monday said that it would only use its chemical weapons stockpile if it is invaded by a foreign military.

At a press conference monday Syrian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Jihad Makdissi added that under no circumstances would the chemical weapons be used against civilians. It is the first time Syria has admitted that it has a chemical weapons stockpile.
