A man and woman were arrested after narcotics, a weapon and 10 grenades were found inside a Miami, Florida home.

The grenades were found after a man flew in from New York to his vacation home in Miami and found squatters living there, police said.

When police responded to a call about the disturbance, they found cocaine and marijuana that apparently belonged to the squatters, a man and woman in their 30s, so they are facing drugs and weapons charges, police said.

The grenades were found in a drawer in the bedroom, according to police.

"The grenades have been taken to a laboratory to see if in fact they are active. But that's still under investigation," Miami Police spokesman Sgt. Freddie Cruz said.

Police evacuated residents from the neighborhood on the edge of Coral Gables and Miami and a bomb squad arrived at the scene, but police reopened streets that were closed to deal with the grenade situation shortly after 8 p.m.

Police have not released the names of the accused squatters.

There was a pet pig on the premises, and it was put back in the pen in the backyard.
