Spain experiencing major heat wave
Tuesday, June 28, 2011 - 8:00am

Parts of Spain are experiencing a major heat wave with temperatures soaring over the 100 degree mark. Monday digital thermometers read anywhere from 35 to 40 degrees, celsius, that's 95 to 104 degrees fahrenheit. Forecasters blame the heat wave on a mass of hot air from Africa.

Several records were broke around the country, and more are expected to be broken today. Spain isn't the only country in Europe experiencing warmer than normal temperatures, the mercury flirted with new highs in Portugal and France as well.
