NBC NATIONAL NEWS — New information has been released about next year's monthly social security checks for senior citizens.
The Social Security Administration said seniors will see a 1.7 percent bump in their checks, which averages to about $20 a month.
That news comes after concern by some seniors, including here in Baton Rouge, that the increase would be too little.
Seniors have come to rely on those increases to make ends meet.
The nearly two percent increase goes into effect in January.
