A Florida sheriff's deputy rescued a 1-year-old child from a burning home in Deltona Tuesday morning.

Rescuers from Deltona Fire Rescue and the Volusia County Fire Department found fire on the porch of the home and inside in the front of the home after receiving a 911 call.

Brian Holley was at work when he learned his house was on fire.

His wife Samantha, his 2- and 4-year-old daughters and infant niece were home alone.

"She was actually getting ready to give one of the girls a bath and walked back in the room for something and there it was all up in flames," said Holley.

Neighbor Sherri Jensen called 911 after first smelling smoke and then seeing the blaze spreading fast.

"The whole house is on fire," said Jensen. "The windows are busting out."

Two adults got out safely, but Deputy Bryon Poteralski went in after the girl who was in a back bedroom.
