NBC NATIONAL NEWS — A jury has convicted a former Rutgers University student of bias intimidation and invasion privacy in the connection with death of his gay roommate.
Dharun Ravi, 20, was also convicted of a number of other charges, including tampering with evidence and witnesses.
Ravi's roommate, Tyler Clementi, 18, jumped from the George Washington Bridge in September 2010, three days after Ravi set up a webcam in their dorm room.
Lawyers said Ravi went to a friend's room and watched Clementi kissing a man, then sent text and Twitter messages telling others to watch.
He faces a maximum of up to 10 years in jail and deportation to his native India.
