NBC News — A Russian cruise ship is still adrift in the Atlantic after an attempt to tow it from Canada to the Dominican Republic failed. The 328 foot vessel was supposed to have been towed from a harbor in Newfoundland to a scrap yard in the Dominican Republic, but a cable snapped shortly after it left the harbor last month. While it drifted, another vessel tried to tow it, but that also failed.
There is no crew on board the ship and its has no power or lights which makes it a possible hazard to other ships at sea. Experts say it may be drifting to Europe. The ship's owner says he is in talks with salvage companies to locate the vessel and retrieve it.
