NBC NATIONAL NEWS — A new report from the Centers for Disease Control finds a 54 percent decrease in teend drinking and driving since 1991.
In 2011, the vast majority of high school teens - 9 in 10 - say they did not drive after consuming alcohol.
Researchers attribute the decrease in part to underage drinking laws and graduated driver’s license laws.
Still, nearly 1 million teenagers engage in drinking and driving, according to the CDC report. High school boys over the age of 18 were most likely to drive drunk.
