Home and car sales are typically two good indicators of how the economy is going. But another one you may not have thought of is plastic surgery.

For the third consecutive year, the number of people going for a nip and tuck is rising.

In her first visit to a plastic surgeon, Sherma Mycoskie wanted to erase years in a matter of seconds.

"I wear shorts a lot and people always say, 'Oh, how did you get that bruise' and so I just thought might as well get rid of it if I can," said Mycoskie, a patient at Associates in Cosmetic Surgery.

With a quick injection costing about $50, the veins on her leg will disappear.

"People like to get in and out real quick and so I think we see that trend carry over into cosmetic medicine as well," said Dr. Robert Brueck, with Associates in Cosmetic Surgery.
