Political party calls for new elections in Iraq
NBC News — The political party loyal to radical Shiite cleric Muqtada Al-Sadr is calling for the dissolution of Iraq's parliament and new elections. The call comes days after the government issued an arrest warrant for the country's Vice President.
The anti-American Sadrist bloc is a partner in the Shiite dominated government of Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki. The head of the group said that the elections were needed because of instability in the country and problems that threaten Iraq's sovereignty.
