A Salt Lake City contractor and his plumbing crew unearthed the remains of what might be a 1,000 year old skeleton on Wednesday, Nov. 9.

Don Selby says after digging a five-foot trench in the yard of a home he saw something that resembled a human skull and called the authorities.

Authorities believe that Selby unearthed a burial site possibly belonging to the Fremont indian tribe.

After an examination by the state anthropologist to determine race of the deceased, the remains will be returned for reburial if they are claimed by the tribe.
