Parishioners pose for risque calendar to raise money for church
NBC NATIONAL NEWS — A church group in Framingham, Massachusetts is doing more than baring their souls at the weekly Sunday service. They're almost baring it all in hopes to gather support for their church.
A group of men from the First Parish Church in Framingham stripped away their clothes for a calendar shoot. The group showed off skin to raise money for their church.
You can tee it up with Mr. August, Mr. March strums on a well-placed banjo and ladies can get revved up with Mr. September.
"In the picture -- totally awesome for an old guy," said 64-year-old Leo Giorgio, Mr. September.
The oldest of the bold bunch is a retired pastor in his 80s who said he's proud of his body.
"The older body has its own elegance," said 86-year-old Holly Hollerorth, Mr. June.
Each calendar photo has a story behind it -- Mr. April loves to sing. Mr. October has fishing skills -- he caught the bass that covers him up in his calendar photo. Mr. December likely used his tennis racket to swat bugs during his photo shoot.
"Eight o'clock at night and it was June and as I sat there sort of naked, I fooled everybody except for the mosquitoes," said 85-year-old Tony Greeley, Mr. December.
"They felt special and they really wanted to do their thing for the church. I think they had a lot of fun and they really let go of their inhibitions to make this happen," said Lynne Damianos, the calendar photographer.
The group proved that they're never too old to say, "We're hot!"
They are hoping the calendar is a hot seller.
In 2006, the ladies of the church did their own calendar, which sold out and made $2,600 for the church.
