Palestinian Prime Minister doubts U.N. recognition
NBC News — The Palestinian Prime Minister weighed in wednesday on the possible United Nations recognition of a Palestinian State. Prime Minister Salam Fayyad said a recognition would largely be a symbolic victory and would not change the reality of the Israeli occupation.
Fayyad's skepticism sets him apart from much of the rest of the Palestinian leadership. The Prime Minister said a recognition would be worthless unless Israel was a part of it.
