The Palestinian president is threatening new measures against Israel if a much anticipated meeting in Jordan fails to make progress. The chief Israeli and Palestinian peace negotiators will meet in Jordan late tuesday with the goal of laying the groundwork for the resumption of peace talks.

Negotiations have been stalled for more than a year. The Palestinians say Israel must freeze settlement construction and agree to return to its pre-1967 borders for peace talks to resume. The Palestinians have set a January 26th deadline for talks to start again.
