An organization promoting peace is protesting the Westboro Baptist Church in a "colorful" way.

The church known for protesting military and gay funerals with provocative signs has new neighbors and the house is hard to miss.

This house is called “The Equality House." Planting Peace is a non-profit organization that aims to spread equality and peace throughout the world.

Members of the group bought this home to live in temporarily and are painting it rainbow - the colors of the gay pride flag - symbolizing equality, peace and positive change.

Organizers say the goal is to take a stance against a group they say is hateful.

"The importance is to speak out if it's in support of someone who's different” stated Davis Hammet, Director of Operations form Planting Peace. “It's about embracing diversity. If someone's being bullied or something, do something, don't just stand by. This is our way of doing something."

Members plan to use the house as a place for guest speakers to stay; they're also starting an anti-bullying campaign.
It will be painted this way for as long as they own it, and they have no plans to sell it.

A spokesperson for the Westboro Baptist Church says this doesn't change anything they do or say and only shines a brighter spotlight on their message.
