NBC News — Days before she is due to take her seat in Myanmar's parliament for the first time, opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi appeared publicly to thank the voters who elected her.
Suu Kyi's National League for Democracy won 43 of the 44 seats that they contested, sending a powerful message to Myanmar's ruling party. She is due to take her seat for the first time on April 23rd, though she has yet to confirm whether she will attend the session, because of a dispute over the current wording of the constitution.
