NBC NATIONAL NEWS — The crime scene is roughly three miles from the Kodiak Airport.
Tucked away in the hills is the Coast Guard's Communication Station.
This is where the Coast Guard said they found two of their members shot an killed soon after they arrived for work somewhere around 7:00 and 8:00 in the morning.
Authorities believe a third person was involved though they would not say how.
The Communication Station is a secure facility where they coordinate transmissions between Coast Guard vessels, aircraft, and teams on the ground.
It's a secure building and to get in you must show an ID.
About twelve hours after the crime, Coast Guard Police were still searching the roads outside for evidence.
The FBI is involved and an investigation is underway.
