NBC News — Nissan says it'll make its profit forecast of $3.4 billion despite a slump in sales. Japan's second biggest carmaker by sales reported friday a 35% year on year drop in third quarter net profit, citing weak demand in Europe, China and the United States.
The results, however, still came in slightly above the market expectation. The company lost or just maintained market share in Europe, China and North America. Nissan sold 4.9 million vehicles in 2012 globally.
