Newt Gingrich still a presidential candidate
NBC NEWS — Newt Gingrich has confirmed he's still a presidential candidate.
The announcement comes just one day after the mass resignation of his top campaign staffers. Gingrich spoke this morning outside his suburban Virginia home.
"I am a candidate for President of the United States because I think that we are in the early stages of the Obama depression,” stated Gingrich. “14 million Americans out of work. 1 in every 4 american families has a mortgage that is more expensive than the house is worth. The price of gasoline is hitting every single family in the country and you have in the Obama Administration that has exactly the wrong policies."
Gingrich's next scheduled event is a speech in Los Angeles on June 12.
