NBC NATIONAL NEWS — A new prenatal test can spot abnormalities more often than other tests being used now.
Researchers at Columbia University Medical Center studied more than 4,000 pregnant women who had a high risk for having a child with a genetic abnormality, like Down Syndrome.
The women underwent the new test, called micro-array analysis, and the standard tests. The new test detected an abnormality in one out of sixty pregnancies that had been given a clean bill of health with routine testing.
