New option for school's ground beef

School districts across the country will soon be able to choose what type of ground beef they serve in their lunch rooms.

It's following the controversy over the use of an ammonia treated beef filler now known as 'pink slime'.

The product is used to kill bacteria like e-coli and salmonella.

Beginning this fall, schools will be able to choose between patties made with this filler or bulk ground beef without it.

We are working to find out which local schools systems will stay with the so called pink slime or make the switch.
