NBC NATIONAL NEWS — Higher production costs appear to take a bite out of Apple's profits from the new iPad.
Research firm IHS iSuppli took an iPad 3 apart to tally up the cost of production.
The cost is $364.35 for a model with 32 gigabytes of ram and a cellular modem, according to the folks at the firm.
They say that's nine-percent more than the manufacturing costs for an iPad 2, but both versions launched with the same price, $499.
