United States — A federal safety board is pushing for ignition locks for all drunk drivers.
The recommendation from the National Transportation Safety Board comes after a review of "wrong-way" crashes. The study shows nearly 70 percent of those accidents are caused by drunk drivers.
Right now, 17 states have laws requiring ignition interlock devices for convicted drunk drivers, which measure alcohol concentration in a person's breath before allowing them to operate the vehicle.
The NTSB is recommending them for all states, even for first-time offenders.
