Framed by the inauguration in Washington, the nation honored slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King Monday.

Across the country his march continued, with hundreds of thousands honoring the memory of Dr. King.

A resounding chorus echoed his timeless message at a prayer breakfast in Ohio, and in Atlanta, from the church where he preached.

In New Jersey a new generation worked to paint a more complete picture of his dream.

That legacy was in many ways fulfilled in Washington with the second inauguration of President Obama.

"It is a dream fulfilled for my parents. To be an African American woman, to be college educated, to be able to be afforded the opportunity to see such a positive representation of African American life in the White House," said one inauguration attendee.

Signs of progress that so many insist would have never been possible without the vision, dedication and sacrifice of the man they honored today.
