SMITH COUNTY, TX (KETK) — The East Texas woman who stoned two of her children to death and seriously injured another has been released from her court-ordered mental health facility, according to Smith County court documents obtained by KETK.
A Smith County jury found Deanna Laney, 43, not guilty by reason of insanity, and ordered her to the Kerrville State Hospital, which is a maximum-security inpatient treatment facility in Kerr County.
Laney stoned her sons to death on Mother's Day weekend in 2003 and was acquitted by a Smith County jury in April of 2004.
