NBC NATIONAL NEWS — Miss Pennsylvania has resigned claiming the Miss USA Pageant's organizers staged a fraud.
Sheena Monnin made the announcement on her Facebook page saying a fellow contestant told her she accidentally found a list of the top five contestants before Sunday's pageant telecast.
Monnin, 27, says the contestant's story proved true when the top five were announced live on the air.
In her Facebook post, Monnin said, "I can no longer be affiliated in any way with an organization I consider to be fraudulent."
Pageant officials now plan to sue her.
"When she uses the word 'fraud,' that's pretty strong,” said organizer Donald Trump. “So, we're going to be suing her on that basis. I did see her for about a second. I never felt she had a chance and all of this is buyer's remorse."
As for the other contestant who supposedly saw a list of the top five, pageant officials say she denies it.
