Massive pipeline explosion in Kenyan capital
NBC News —
Officials continue to find bodies one day after a massive gas pipeline explosion ripped through a slum in Kenya's capital Nairobi. A red cross official said the number of dead from the pipeline explosion has risen to 82 adding that the death toll is expected to continue rising.
Residents are searching a river that runs throughout the slum, prodding the bottom for signs of any bodies. The head of Kenya's state-owned pipeline company said monday's explosion was caused by an over-pressurized pipeline. Many of the shanties in the slum were build right up to the pipeline.
