Man posing as Seattle cop sexually assaults woman
SEATTLE (KCPQ) — A man posing as a police officer sexually assaulted a woman in North Seattle late Friday night, police said. The victim, 26, was on her way to meet a friend when the suspect confronted her near the 1100 block of North 93rd Street, and told her he was a plain clothes police officer.
When the suspect asked her for identification, the woman paused, and then attempted to walk away. The suspect then approached her again, this time with a badge. Police say he then pushed her into a bushy area where he sexually assaulted her.
The suspect fled, and the victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center. She was interviewed by the Sexual Assault Unit at Harborview.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, 30 to 40 years old, clean cut looking, with short dark curly hair, and a stocky build.
