Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — As part of the homecoming festivities on LSU's campus, students have been giving back at the annual CANapalooza.
The canned food drive benefits the Greater Baton Rouge Area Food Bank.
Bins are set up around campus for donations. The cans are then set up to replicate Tiger Stadium and Mike the Tiger’s habitat. It's a great way for students to give back before the holiday season.
"I know a few students didn't know about it, but saw the barrels and came ask how they can help,” stated Ka’sha Bernard with the Homecoming Student Committee. “A few organizations get together and bring hundreds of thousands of cans."
The replicas will be out on display throughout the day tomorrow on the Parade Grounds, located just outside the Student Union. Fans are encouraged to bring can goods to donate if they are on campus tomorrow.
