Cubans living in the city of Santiago still do not have power or running water, four days after the city was pounded by hurricane Sandy. The storm came ashore in Cuba thursday and killed eleven people on the island including a four month-old boy. Cuban President Raul Castro met with officials in Havana monday to coordinate storm clean up.

Castro, who visited the country's hardest hit regions sunday, warned of a long road to recovery. Authorities have set up radios and televisions in public spaces to keep people up to date on relief efforts. There has also been a massive handout of mobile phones to residents in the affected city. Many of the schools in the region were badly damaged and the city's zoo also suffered extensive damage, but none of the animals was hurt.
