Lieutenant Governor Dardenne hosts brunch honoring Louisiana Grammy nominees

To celebrate Grammy nominees from Louisiana, Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne will host the sixth annual Only in Louisiana brunch in Los Angeles today.

The Brunch will be emceed by Louisiana native Kix Brooks, formerly of Brooks and Dunn, and feature a keynote address by Lt. Governor Dardenne about Louisiana music history and the Louisiana Office of Tourism’s music-themed ad campaign.

"The Only in Louisiana brunch is our way of highlighting Louisiana’s rich musical legacy for the entertainment industry in its own backyard," Lt. Governor Dardenne said. "We are especially excited about our Grammy nominees this year since we are highlighting Louisiana’s music throughout 2013."

Grammy nominees Corey Ledet as well as Wayne Toups and Joel Savoy will perform and meals will be prepared by renowned Louisiana chef and Chopped champion Cory Bahr of Cotton restaurant in Monroe. The menu will feature Louisiana seafood provided by the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board.

More than 300 travel writers, music writers and music industry professionals were invited to attend the brunch to learn about Louisiana’s musical heritage as well as the vast talent that exists today in the state.
