Libyan rebels near the final Khadaffy stronghold
NBC News — As Libyan rebels near Moammar Khaddafy's last remaining strongholds they're finding numerous weapons abandoned by fleeing loyalist fighters. Rebel fighters say they've found tanks and other military hardware left behind by troops loyal to Khaddafy on the road to Bani Walid. Rebels have surrounded the city some 90 miles south of Tripoli.
The town's leaders so far have refused to surrender despite repeated threats by rebel leaders to attack the city. Tuesday negotiations to reach an agreement for a peaceful entry into the town reached a deadlock. Tribal elders met with negotiators from the interim Ruling Council on tuesday but rebel forces say the negotiations broke down.
